This HOMER LAUGHLIN ART CHINA Footed Handled Bowl measures 3" in height and approximately 6" from handle to handle. This gorgeous bowl has a deep bright color and features the Currant Pattern. This bowl does not have chips or cracks but does have two minor glaze flakes. Please see pictures for greater detail. This pattern was produced between 1906 & 1911 by Homer Laughlin. In the early 1900s in an attempt to enter the art pottery field, Homer Laughlin produced a unique line of art china. It was marked in gold or black with an eagle and the name ´Laughlin Art China´. Examples of this ware are very rare, but it has an enthusiastic following.
Perhaps as many as eighty-nine shapes were used, and several different decorating techniques were employed. Their most extensive pattern was called ´Currant´, brown ware with decals of berries and vines.
