| Up for auction is a stunning antique quilt wich has been made in an Irish Chain pattern. This thin, lightweight quilt measures a generous 94" x 74" and it is in very good antique condition save for one block which is demonstrating some shattered fabricm, a few very faint age spots as well as a bit of sun bleaching along one edge (both are photographed). There are no holes, major rips or stains and this quilt is generally quite sturdy. The fabrics are wonderful - a small scale Indigo and white polka dot print is teamed with sparkling white for a classic look which will never date. The hadn quilting really sets this quilt head and shoudlers above the rest - it is done "in the ditch" throughout, in an echoing diamond grid throughout, cables along the edges and in a lavish swirling pattern on the alternating blocks - all at a whopping 12 stitches per inch!!!
