LARGE
VINTAGE MODEL
POND YACHT
In my estimation it dates from around the early 20th Century, circa 1930, but please make up your own mind about this.
The yacht measures approx 43 inches ( 1100mm) long overall (30 1/2 inches (780mm) over the deck) and 63 inches ( 1600mm) tall.
It has a varnished, carved wooden hull with a lead balasted brass keel, and a brass rudder and tiller assembly.
The decks are varneished wood, with brass deck and rigging fittings.
The mast and spars are made of wood and the sails are cotton, and free from tears or repairs, but are a little stained with age .
As can be seen from the photos the paint and varnish is in pretty good order, with only a few minor scuffs here and there.
I have not attempted to clean the model, but the brassware could easily be polished up to a mirror finish if required, a choice I leave up to you.
This is a great vintage model pond yacht.
It would make a fine display piece or be suitable to sail, and would be a great addition to any collection.
