Up to your consideration is this small Vintage Sony FM automatic tuning Transistor Radio. Model 2FA24W. This great pocket radio was manufactured around 1966. This is most wild and unique design of automatic (mechanical!) tuning concept, that only SONY could come up with and afford to mass -manufacture. This radio will certainly remind you best of all-mechanical cameras from 60's – same precision, same materials, same feel of top quality. And it is heavy for it's small size - only 45 x 120 x 25 mm / 1.8 x 4.7 x 1 inch. When the volume control button pressed down and released, you'd hear the same noise as from mechanical self-timer. Dial rotates until some magical action stops it at the station with strong signal. Than, you can fine-tune it in station with little Plexiglas wheel on the top. This radio is surprisingly sensitive for it's size It is in MINT, like new condition – absolutely no dents (unusual) and no scratches on metal, plastic part of the cabinet looks also new - NO damage of any kind. Antenna is fine - no bents, retracts smoothly, all sections. On the antenna's top end there is a tiny bright red lucite tip - SONY's signature from 60's. In the battery compartment you'll find original transparent battery holder (rare). Genuine leather case is included and is in excellent condition. Leather is smooth, no damage, zipper works well. Radio is sensitive and plays well. Uses three A640PX batteries (not included), available on Enternet or from Radio Shack. 9V battery is included in the picture for scale comparison only. If you are collector of SONY portables or simply want a really unique radio in excellent shape, this is it! I don't think you'll be able to find another one in this, like-new condition .
