An exquisite canton enamel sweet meat box, painted with bright famille rose enamels in fine detail over copper, with a writhing dragon medallion on the cover, surrounded by an intricately painted mille fleur design. The interior complete with 6 trays, also hand painted. Unmarked on the base.
Condition is commensurate with age and handling. Loss of enamel here and there, visible in the photos. Overall in good condition considering the delicate nature of canton enamel.
This piece came out of a collection in Milwaukee's wealthy north shore community.
Please note that although I've listed this piece for $2995, I will consider just about any offer, as I'm not sure of the value of this piece. Offers from dealers welcome.
