This is a very cool item! I have seen many Tilley lanterns come and go here but never a package quite like this. There are 2 Tilley Kerosene Lanterns in a hinged metal case with assorted assessories. I think they are Model X246 or X246A. After looking at pics of both I am hard pressed to tell the difference. Any Tilley collectors out there with information may feel free to email me.
There is a box with 9 envelopes marked genuine Tilley Happy Mantle for 300CP lamps. Also included are 2 jars marked Methylated Spirit Fuel for preheating Tilley Lamp, (empty) 2 Vaporizer Parts, No. 606 and No. 1560, a funnel, a shade and 2-3 other small pieces I cannot identify.
I do not know if these lanterns work or if they are complete. Obviously the one is missing the globe, fount and bale. They both show wear at the base but the glass globe on one has no cracks or chips. The shade is scratched up and the case itself is a little beat up on the outside.
