I just love, love, love this collectible vintage Lefton Blue Bird
bowl! It is cereal bowl size, measuring about 6-6 1/2" in
diameter and is about 1 1/2" high. It has the "Geo. Z.
Lefton 435" mark in green on the bottom. This
piece is in fantastic condition! Upon extremely close inspection,
I notice some light crazing and a flea bite sized rough area under a
tail feather. This is under the piece and I believe is simply a
spot that didn't get glazed in the factory--no big deal at all.
Those insignificant matters aside, this bowl is fantastic Lefton Blue
Bird, but definitely! The delicate, finely detailed hand painting
used is always amazing; hundreds of strokes define the feathers,
blending of rosy pink cheeks and soft yellow breast. The twinkling eye
is just spectacular. The bowl is not easily found in this set.
How absolutely cute is it that this Blue Bird looks like a puffer fish
or something! It just cracks me up and I have loved looking at it
displayed in my cabinet for several years! Downsizing sucks!
