EXQUISITE ANTIQUE ENGLISH ESTATE VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER CASTOR OR MUFFINEER FEATURING A PRISTINE ROYAL BLUE GLASS LINER SURROUNDED BY ELABORATELY DETAILED REPOUSSE OPEN PIERCED WORK DESIGN
EXTREMELY SCARCE WITH NO RESERVE
Exquisite in beauty and design. This antique Victorian Sterling Silver Sugar Castor/Muffineer is simply elegant and was recently purchased from an estate in London, England. The estate had it listed as early Victorian Sterling Silver Sugar Muffineer circa 1840's produced by 19th century English Sterling Silver maker Robert Pringle & Sons.
The sterling silver sugar muffineer is in wonderful antique condition with no chips or cracks to the original royal blue glass liner. The elaborately designed ornate pierced open work design of the silver is quite lovely decorates the sugar shaker and the top lid, as well. The silver shaker top lid displays six floral shaped designs for shaking the sugar from the bottle.
The estate had it listed as sterling silver and the original hallmarks can be seen quite clearly in my close-up pictures below. The marks portray the letters RP and then a Lion and a Shield. The silver hallmarks are on the the castor and the lid.
