WMF (WÜRTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK)
Founded 1880 by Daniel Straub and the brothers Schweizer. WMF was, around 1900, the world's largest producer of household metalware, mainly in the Art Nouveau / Jugendstil style.
In their growing policy WMF acquired several companies such as AK & CIE (Albert Köhler und Cie), ORION, Orivit AG, Plewkiewetz&Co in Poland.
In their own Art studio many famous artists and designers like Peter Behrens and Albin Müller worked for WMF and brought the company to world fame.
Today, more than ever, the Art Nouveau object from WMF are real collector items.
