EARLY GERMAN HOT AIR ENGINE TOY. Fresh out of a Maine attic, the top mounted engine with twin 2 1/4" diameter spoked flywheels, each with 3/8" face, 1 flywheel with connecting rod to side mounted displacer cylinder and piston, the flywheel with unique reversing mechanism with brass crescent plate reading "Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster." Other details include crankshaft with 1/2" diameter belt pulley, center-crank journal with connecting rod to power piston rod, twin cast A-frame supports, 2 1/2" diameter center section mounted a pierced burner housing with 2" diameter single wick burner, protruding power piston cylinder, tapered back mounted chimney with 1 3/4" diameter fluted brass top (note: it appears that the chimney has been restored), all on a 4 3/4" diameter original base, overall height 13", depth 6", in what appears to be very good condition, weight 1 1/2 pounds.
