I am offering at auction a Columbia BF Peerless Graphophone phonograph which was made either in 1906 or 1907 since models made after 1907 have a decal that reads "Columbia Graphophone" while models made in 1907 have decals that read "The Graphophone" as this does. It has a four spring motor and a mandrel that will accomodate the standard cylinder records as well as the 6" "Twentieth Century" cylinders. This model sold for $40.00 when it was new. There is a label inside the lid stating that it may not be sold for under this amount. It also says "The American Graphophone Company" which is what the name of the company was before it became the Columbia Graphophone Company. The machine runs and plays. This is a 2 minute machine. There is a belt on the machine but it looks like it should probably be replaced. The cabinet appears to have the original finish and has a few scuff marks as should be expected of a machine of this age. One corner pillar on the case is loose but otherwise not damaged. The lid has a bit of lifting of the veneer and chipped veneer on one corner. Some of the finish on the top is worn of somewhat and the corners have separated some where they are glued together. I don't see why they couldn't be reglued. The bottom is damaged as is shown in the photo. The decals on the front is nice and the one on the back is a little scuffed but not bad. The finish is somewhat worn on the center panel of the back compared to the rest of the case. The cabinet and lid are attractively sculptured. This item is sold as is. I will pack it well to insure it's safe delivery. Bidders outside the lower 48 states of the US contact me before paying. I'll try to answer any questions as best I can. I don't claim to be an expert. Foreign bidders are welcome. They should contact me before paying.
