**On one of the pictures provided, the flash on my camera made a flash with the glass case, it is not part of the ship, I apologize for any confusion.
Up for bids is a very nice hand-made Chapman wooden model ship. This model is of a 1770 ship mastered by Fredrik Henrik af Chapman, from Sweden. It measures 10 inches long, and it is inside of a wood-framed glass protective display case(the case measures 12.5 inches). Also, inside the case there is a plaque/nameplate with "Chapman" and "1770" scribed on it. I have had this rare piece for over 20 years, I purchased it from an estate auction, I also have one other hand-made wooden model ship, and will be listing it on eBay in the coming weeks.
I have added a little information about Chapman, along with the source where I got it from:Fredrik Henrik af Chapman has probably had a greater influence on Swedish shipbuilding and naval architecture than any other individual. Chapman was born in 1721 at Nya varvet (the New Shipyard) in Gothenburg and died in 1808 at Karlskrona, and his whole life was dominated by ships and shipbuilding. http://www.modelshipbuilder.com/articles/chapman.html
