EAMES HERMAN MILLER ARM SHELL ROCKER CHAIR RAR 3 Day NR

Description

Stunning Eames Designed, Herman Miller Arm Shell Rocker. Rare early 1950s Olive Green Shell swimming with tons of bright white and gray strands. There are absolutely no cracks, chips or scratches in the surface but there are some very light scuffs in the finish that can be seen in certain lights. The edges are smooth with only very minor wear. It does seem like one or two of the shock mounts have been re-glued at some time but they all line up with the base's mounting brackets and seem very solid. The bottom of the shell is marked with the Herman Miller Crown Logo and their is also a Moon and Star Logo typicall of some early shells. Herman Miller is also spelled and shows some wear to some of the letters.
Even with the noted issues this is a beautiful Eames Rocker, especially considering the shell is about 55 years old!

Complete Eames Rocker, including a Vintage Arm Shell, New Base and 4 Bolts.

The high quality Rocker Base features black powder coated framework on solid Birch runners.

On Oct-11-08 at 12:12:20 PDT, seller added the following information:

Any above information as to the age of the shell is speculation because this shell is not date stamped. We do believe this shell was manufactured in the 1950s. The shell does have smaller shock mounts and was most likely NOT manufactured by Zenith Plastics. Thank You
