I got this in Nepal many years ago from a Bhutanese woman trader (this was before Bhutan had any visitors). This is quite early and has wear naturally but the subtle variations and shimmer of the old silk is entrancing. I saw some like it once in a museum in Santa Fe and mine are older and better! 32" x 12 1/2" wide.
This is a true antique with some fading and light soil but no serious holes or tears. The colors are absolutely ethereal adn the motifs are marvelous.. This little gem was my favorite of all the small group of textiles I got in Bhutan. I had an estimate years ago of $250-350 on this.
I've had a few of these put aside and have decided to test the waters. Floated in glass on a wall this would look priceless!
