This is one beautiful safe. I purchased a house and this was left inside. It is so heavy, I haven't even tried to move it. On the knob are patent dates. The first, I think, is Sept 12, 1860, but upon research, S & G formed the Company in 1865. The last patent date on the knob is 1871, Rochester, N.Y. The inside of the safe measures 13" x 14". The depth of is 19", height 29" and measures 17" across. The door does not lock, which I am told is better for a locksmith to gain the original combination. I am selling this safe "as is," with local pickup only. I have revised the Title as upon closer inspection, the hand-painting is almost "trump L'oeil" to imitate inlaid wood. Bring a load of muscle to move this one, although it is on wheels.
