This item consists of a Red Wing 8 gallon butter churn. Eight gallon butter churns are hard to find and this one is especially rare because of the "oval over" stamp. The numeral, oval and birch leaf design are all in black ink. Churn measures 19 1/4" tall.
Butterchurn is in excellent condition. There is one 3/8" long shallow chip on the inside rim. There is also a small factory glaze pop on this rim. There is a faint small crows foot on the inside of the churn, doesn't go through. The glaze on the outside of the churn is uneven, typical of Red Wing's quality control.
A great example of a hard to find churn. Have had this item in my collection for over 25 years.
