For auction is a rare early version of the iconic Eames DAX armshell chair. This mid-century classic was produced by the Zenith Plastics Co. for Herman Miller in 1950 and is fully labeled. The chair also has the short lived rope edge all around the bottom edges. This auction is for the shell only... no base. We are therefore willing and able to ship this chair just about anywhere in the world. The overall condition for it's age is quite good. There are a few scuffs and age stains here and there but nothing too bad or detracting for it's lovely parchment / off white color. The shell is really nice because the grain of the fiberglass is very pronounced and the chair is quite thin making it translucent. Please see all of the photos for a good visual description. There are other early Eames chairs we currently have up for sale from the same original owner so please see our other auctions.

Because of the new Ebay listing rules regarding shipping costs we have been forced to use the form saying that we ship UPS. Please note: WE DO NOT SHIP UPS. We have used them in the past and refuse to continue business with them due to items breaking and theft. We ship via FedEx Ground (or expedited at your advance request) or by USPS for international transactions. We disagree with the new requirements that dictate how a seller should ship the items that they are selling but unfortunately we cannot change the powers that be. International bidders are welcome. Thank you for looking.

THE WINNING BIDDER OF THIS AUCTION AGREES TO THE FOLLOWING:

PAYMENT: Payment must be received WITHIN 4 DAYS after auction close. We will send you an invoice through eBay after auction closes. After receiving your invoice please contact us with your shipping address and the method of payment you will be using. We accept payment by money order or by credit card through Paypal. International bidders: payment by international money order or by Paypal only. Payment must be in US DOLLARS.
SHIPPING: The winning bidder of this auction agrees to pay ALL shipping fees. Please do not make up your own shipping fees as there will be no haggling with shipping costs. Please be advised that to get your package to you safely it must be packaged properly and packaging materials do cost money. Packaging fees will be factored into your shipping quote; insurance fees may be additional. We do not charge handling fees for our time and transportation fees incurred and ship once a week. Please do not make any assumptions as to when the item will be shipped. All items will be properly wrapped in the appropriate new box and materials before they are shipped. If the proper materials are not available there will be a slight delay in shipment. If you need special arrangements (birthdays, anniversaries, an obsessive, irrational need for the item), please contact us BEFORE you bid and we can make arrangements.
NEW BIDDERS: Please remember that when you are the winning bidder, you are obligated to pay the high-bid price for the item. Do not bid if you do not plan to pay for the item. Serious bidders only please!
All items are sold AS IS... we have described them to the best of our abilities. The auction time is your preview time. Please ask any and all questions before bidding and we will try our best to answer them. QUESTIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.

BID WITH CONFIDENCE!

We take every transaction seriously whether you spend $1 or $1000. Please check out our other auctions for more items like this and Good Luck!
