This is a good brass trombone made by J Higham. The serial number is 29813 which dates the instrument to 1878. Slide and tuning slide move freely but are quite dry and there is some friction; some good slide oil should help. There are 4-5 small dents but overall it is still in good condition. The inscription on the bell indicates it was made by J. Higham and distributed in the US by W.H. Cundy. It also lists awards it received in London and Dublin in 1862 and 1864, and that it was made in Manchester. It comes with the original end loading leather case. The leather straps are broken but the case itself is still intact and usable. Item sold as-is, shipping is free in the continental US.
