"Suspense". This program spanned the golden age of radio, and this collection includes the audition (pilot episode) show The Lodger which aired on July 22, 1940 starring Alfred Hitchcock, the first regular show The Burning Court which aired on June 17th, 1942 and the last episode Devilstone which aired over twenty years later.

"Mystery is My Hobby" Narrated in first person by Barton Drake, Mystery is My Hobby, was played before a live audience. He was always getting into gripping situations - A stroll through the Indian summer, a French airplane swoops low, narrowly missing the elongated hairs on Barton’s head, an oil king is murdered by his well, he lies there with oil squirting all over his cowboy boots. The variety of plots that are included here make this series worth listening to.
Perry Mason, Erle Stanley Gardner‘s most famous literary creation not only existed in books, movies and television, he also lived for a while on radio. It is a must-listen for the Mason book fan. A success from the start, Mason was adored by the public. Featured in more than 80 novels, several movies, and this popular 1940s radio show. An honest fearless champion of good, Mason took on cases with the help of his friend, Paul Drake, owner of the Drake Detective Agency, located in the same building, and Della Street, his loyal secretary. This show was different from the television series, in that it was in a serial format, similiar to the soap operas of the day.
Casey, Crime Photographer :This classic show from the golden age of radio was based on the mysteries of George Harmon Coxe, and, in many ways, was similar to Night Beat, Ellery Queen, The Thin Man, and Sam Spade. The title character, Casey, is a photographer for the Morning Express newspaper, who snaps crime scene photos. The stories behind these photos is what encourage him to play detective. Supporting characters includeEthelbert is bartender at the Blue Note Cafe, and reporter Ann Williams as the love interest.
"Mystery in the Air" was a Summer series consisting of mystery / horror shows. The series was hosted by Peter Lorre who also played the title role in a few of the shows. This show was a summer replacement series.

Alan Ladd portrayed Dan Holiday, a newsman, who wrote mystery novels and sought new material through his Box 13 and an ad he ran in the Star-Times Newspaper. "Worried about the United Nations? Anxious about those bills piling up? Want to get away from it all? We offer you ... ESCAPE! " William Conrad and Paul Frees, along with other top radio personalities, star in this dramatic anthology that is still considered by many to be radio's greatest high adventure series. This program offers a fresh realism in a time of tired film adaptations.
"Lights Out" debuted in 1935 on the NBC radio network. It was billed as radio's penultimate horror series, and became the measuring stick that others which follwed were measured against. The series was created by Wyllis Cooper, who was succeeded by Arch Oboler, one of radio's greatest dramatic talents. Few shows have ever combined the talents of actors and imaginative writers so well with the poor, hardworking sound effects man. Never had such sounds been heard on the air, heads rolled, bones were crushed, people fell from great heights and splattered wetly on pavement.
"Inner Sanctum" was famous for the creaking door opening as part of the introduction which entertained a generation of listeners. It was a mystery series with a supernatural overtone. The show was hosted each week by Raymond Johnson or Paul McGrath. The shows are genuinely spooky, with eerie ghosts who will make you want to hide under the bed.
"The Creaking Door" , is a classic icon of the over-the-air horror programing that was so popular in the golden age of radio.

But you should check with your equipment manufacturer to be sure. Exchanges will be made for defective media only, not for equipment incompatabilities. It is also possible to listen to these programs on your Apple iPod by using iTunes to transfer them. I have quite a few programs on mine, and the quality is very good.
