I know absolutely nothing about antique trunks, so please read this carefully--correct me where I am wrong, and ask any questions you have before bidding.

This trunk has been in my family for over 35 years.  It has obviously suffered some water damage, primarily on the top.  I have not cleaned it in any way, as I didn’t know if this would damage it more…so if it looks a little dusty, etc. please forgive me.

It looks all original.  The lid has water damage that has worn off the paint, but the canvas is pretty much intact.  Please take a good look at the pictures for reference.  The bottom looks really nice.  Inside there is water damage and some of the ribbon is broken.  Some of the tacks are a little loose and tarnished.

On the outside is period paint (from the factory?): yellow stripes and the name “Willard S. Morse NY”.  The lock is intact, no key.  There seems to be a ledge for a set of fitted boxes, the ledge is intact but the boxes are missing.

Rear hinges are intact and work fine.  The locks swing into place and are in nice shape with a smooth, dark patina.

On one end, it looks like there is an old leather holder for a business card.  I do not know if this was added at the factory or if it was installed later.  On the same side, the leather trim has a notch out of it, and a paint rub.  I think this will come off easily, but I don’t want to hurt anything.  Leather handles are in place.

Serial Number 752933.  I am not sure of the manufacture date, but given other trunks online, it seems to be between 1900-1930.

Size:  35¾ X 20 X 13”

Shipping:  I will only ship to a street address.  Shipping is UPS ground insured to the CONUS only.  Cost is $300, and UPS will pack and ship.  I will insure for the auction amount and send you the tracking number.

Payment:  Bank wire or USPS money order.  If paying with MO, it must clear (10 days) before I will ship item.  I will email you after the auction with details.  Sorry for the tight restrictions, but I have been burned in the past.

Communication:  Please e-mail me through E-Bay with any questions.  If serious, I’ll e-mail you back or give you my cell phone number if necessary.

Bidding:  No international bidders.  CONUS only.  No minors, or bidders with negative feedback.

Returns:  All sales final.  No returns.  Please communicate with me prior to bidding to avoid any challenges.

My goal is a pleasant transaction all around.  If there are any problems whatsoever, please contact me, and I will do my best to make it right.  Once again, I am not an expert on this item. Please ask all questions prior to bidding.  Thank you for looking.
